A weekend in Devon part one

I don't think I'll ever tire of fleeing the city and driving down to the reassuring coastline of Devon. It's been many months since our last visit with the beach and seafront changing with the seasons. As the sun dipped beneath the horizon and the murmurations of starlings swooped high above our heads we caught the last of the light on the beach as I'd promised Theo to take him to see the sea. The tide was low and grey sea lapped on the cold sands as we walked along and under the pier before we called it a day and headed back through the hibernating seaside town just as the twinkling lights came on. We warmed up at home with tea and crumpets and settled in for the evening.
