a family walk

Yesterday we had an unplanned, unexpectedly perfect day. We wanted to go to a car boot sale so had a little look online and found one not to far away, so we got ready and out the house early.

We had a good root around the stalls, picked up a few bargains, mainly toys for Theo (I will share our loot soon!) and left for the car. As it was still mid-morning and we were close to Clevedon we decided to have a little visit to the beach. The sky was clear and the sun was shining and everything just seemed right!

We found a space right on the front and proceeded to make our way onto the pebbles (much better than sand in my opinion!) and there we spent the next hour or so.

We stayed on the beach throwing stones in the water and attempting to be buried (alas not so effective as sand!)  until our tummies started to rumble so we sent Rob off in search of some chips. Then we did what any logical person would do at the seaside next, go in search of ice cream!

I was really happy to have the chance to finally bust out my new Sunglasses from Glasses Direct (watch out for the competition coming in the next few days to win a pair of your own!)

After our ice cream we made our way into the small town for a look around the charity shops (I still had the thrifting bug!) and stumble upon a beautiful park. The high street is pretty upmarket with lots of boutiques and two of the poshest charity shops I've ever been too! We grabbed a snack from the delicious Pullins Bakery and headed back to the park to sit in the sunshine.

We ran around playing hide and seek and climbing trees. We were having so much fun that we didn't even have time to visit the pier like last time! We did manage to fit in a little roller skate along the front, pretending we were straight out of Miami...(We picked up his skates at the car boot sale!)

Needless to say, he could do with a little practice! We ended our trip by stopping by a few more charity shops on a more mainstream little high street (much more our style!)

Such a good day! Hope you've all been enjoying the sun this bank holiday!
